FINAL CAST LIST POSTED!

So today has been a very very VERY long day. I've been so nervous, my stomach has been a wreck and I've got so much nervous energy that my friends think I'm crazy. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night because I was up late making earrings for all my friends as their Christmas presents. Luckily there were plenty of distractions.

My last class, sewing, a kid came in with half a dozen packets. I got one. I opened it and saw a Beauty and the Beast script. OMGOSH! I pulled out a white slip of paper. it read:

"You have been selected for the role of : 'Belle'"

OMGOSH.

I dropped the paper, and my mouth hung open, my heart stopped and my lungs stopped taking in air. My eyes started watering.

YES!!! I am soooooo happy!

Then the letters for Rotary Honor Roll came in (which I also applied for). My friend Meghan was begging to open it so she opened it and looked. She flashed me this huge grin. I GOT IN! I shot my fist into the air in victory. Unfortunately, I was the only one in my class to be picked.

Today has been SUCH AN AMAZING DAY!!!!

Callbacks

Callbacks for Beauty and the Beast were posted today. The only character that got a callback was the beast. That means that all the other roles have been selected. We have NO idea who had a chance for what. ARHRGHHHGHRHGHRG!! I'm really nervous! Now I have to wait until WEDNESDAY to find out!

Audition!

So my audition was today. I HAVE A COLD! I stayed home from school yesterday and my voice is BARELY back. I got some help Tuesday night from Rob's sister and mom (THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH!) They gave me some helpful tips about my performance.

I went in and was super nervous but I tried not to show it. After all, they can't have a nervous, jittery Belle up on stage. I used the tips my friends gave me and sang strong. I didn't stumble over my lines and I projected well.

Can't wait for callbacks and finally the FINAL CAST LIST!!!

Beauty and the Beast

Hey Guys! haven't posted in a while, SORRY! I've been super busy with Thanksgiving and stuff. For Thanksgiving, I usually eat with one of my good church friend Rob's family but they were busy this year so we ate at the church with like... 8 other families. It was pretty fun!

So anyway, you're probably wondering what my title means. Well... My middle school is performing Beauty and the Beast this year. My music teacher hands out audition packets tomorrow and I'm soooo excited to start practicing! I want to be Belle pretty bad since it's my last year in middle school and because Belle is my favorite princess. Sooo hopefully I'll get a good part after I audition not this upcoming week but NEXT WEEK, on Thursday, the 15th.

WORLDS OF FUN!!!

Hi there!!! These past 3 days, my girl scout troop went to KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI. What did we do there? Any guesses?? WOW! YOU ARE AMAZING! Yes. We went to worlds of fun. We sold enough cookies, that we had some leftover money!!! WOO! It was amazing!!!

TUESDAY

We all arrived at our leaders house, Ms. Veda. She gave us our bright green group Tshirts and we were divided into cars for the 3 hour drive to Kansas City. I rode with my mom and sister (LEXI) and another girl scout, Paige, tagged along. We had a lot of fun in the car. We had a water fight (with squirt bottles) and we talked and laughed A LOT. Because of all the flooding, we had to take a detour. We passed a lot of many flooded field. It was sad.

When we FINALLY got there, it was BOILING hot. There was a 115 heat index for the day. Luckily, that meant all the lines for the rides were super short. My favorite was the Mamba and the Patriot. We left at around 8 to get dinner at Pizza Hut.

WEDNESDAY

On Wednesday, we went to Oceans of Fun. It was soooooo fun! The wave pool was HUGE, the rides were AWESOME! But the water was warm. That's how hot it was. We had a BLAST!!!

THURSDAY

Thursday was my friends birthday (they also stayed longer) so we had a scavenger hunt around the hotel and we went swimming.

There is a lot of church history in Independence, MO. We went to the visitor center and the Community of Christ Temple. It was all very interesting. Then it was time for the drive home. We got lost a bit (the flooding closed down the main roads and the detour instructions were very confusing) but we finally made it home!!!!

I cant wait until next year!!!

NINJAS IN THE APPLE STORE!

So, TODAY, I hung out with one of my new favorite awesome friend (I seem to have many) Meghan. She is super fun. We decided to head to CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE. It is a delicious but pricey place ($8.00 for a burger?) We split everything. We got the pretzel appetizer which came with two (perfect, right?) soft pretzels with just the right amount of salt and a spicy queso sauce. We got the mini cheesebugers (and fries) as an entree. There were four baby cheeseburgers (Two for each which is still super filling) They were soooooo good. For desert, we split a piece of chocolate (oooohh good) cake. We were very happy because splitting everything gave us a small bill. We each paid about $12.

We were so full, we didn't even need concessions at the movies. We saw Zookeeper. It was a cute flick that kept us laughing. Moral of the story: Don't take love advice from animals.

We walked around Village Pointe afterwards. We went to Claires and tried on some interesting glasses. We also explored the Apple store and took some super awesome ninja pictures (which wouldn't upload to facebook :/)

Girls Camp 2011

Hey there! Camp was amazing!!! (im happy to be sleeping indoors)

I thought you might want to know how it went to HERE GOES!!!

DAY 1 ~ Tuesday

I got up at 5:00, so I could get to the church by 5:45. They changed the time to 7:30. So, I had LOTS of time to get ready. Finally we got to the church, loaded my stuff into the trailer and got put into cars. We started out drive to Little Sioux. When we got there, It was very rainy. and windy. and wet. and miserable. All the tents were set up except ours s

o we had to build our own. They girls in my tent were:

We all got along really well!!

Our first class was "Destiny" (spiritual stuff) We learned about being unified. It was REALLY hard to participate because we were outdoors and centipedes were EVERYWHERE!!!

Then we went to do service. We were making things for the zoo:

Then we went to our certification class and learned about distress signals, using the sun and stars for directions, and about knives.

We went back to our tents and I discovered my pillow had fallen into a puddle :( I spent a lot of my free time drying it off in the bathroom

We had dinner. It was spaghetti and it was delicious!

After dinner, the 4th years had a game prepared for us to help get to know each other. We all sat in a big circle and shared certain things about us (fav vacation spots, family stuff, embarrassing moment, or a special skill)

Then we went on the Faith Walk. It was AMAZING!! We were blindfolded and we were holding onto a rope, deep walking into the forest. Along the way, our YCL's were trying to tempt us to let go (ewww, watch out, we're all done, let's party, etc) At the end, they strung a bunch of lights onto a tree (to represent the tree of life) It was a really cool experience.

Day 2 ~ Wednesday

We woke up at 7:30 and went to breakfast (Biscuits and Gravy) It was still pretty wet.

Then we did service (the same thing) It was actually fun. Then we did crafts. We made Journals:

Then we took our Destiny Class. We learned about stars (our camp theme was "It takes MORE than ONE star to make a CONSTELLATION)

And after that, we got some more certification done.

Then it was time for free time. But there was an issue. The wind was really bad where the 2nd and 4th year tents were located and it was breaking the tents. Everyone was to empty the tents, take them down, and hike up a 1/2 mile to this small valley. It was a pain but everyone worked together and we got the job done. I got a new tent, and a new tent mate, named Cheyenne.

I was bummed because I didn't get free time. Then we had dinner (tacos)

After dinner, we were split into our wards. The Millard Ward was put into a cabin. We had a testimony meeting. It was pretty emotional and everyone cried during the meeting except me. I cried a bit after.

After we spent time with our ward, we went star gazing. The clouds FINALLY cleared and we saw the stars. I headed to my camp and went to bed

Day 3 ~ Thursday

Thursday was our last full day, and also the day of our hike. It was cloudy in the morning. I was READY TO GO! The 2nd years had a 5 mile hike. It was pretty fun, but really long. I had to go to the bathroom SUPER bad at the end. It was disgusting. One of the latrines had a dead bird next to the toilet and there were super huge spiders in the toilets. BLECH!!! When we were done, we did MORE certification. We had a pretty late lunch after but it was good (baked potatoes) Then, it CLEARED UP! In fact, it was hot! For free time, I went to the lake with Rochelle. We went canoeing, and we swam in the lake. Our ranger, Doc, told us that there was a snapping tutrle in the lake, and that if you wiggled your toes in the water wile you were sitting on the dock, it would bite you. I was scared to go in. So me and Rochelle said 1, 2, 3, and we were supposed to both jump in, but I chickened. She was kinda mad. Then Morgan pushed me in. (: After the lake, we went on the biggest slip 'n slide ever. It was SO MUCH FUN!!

After dinner, we had our BIG group testimony meeting (with EVERYBODY)

It was the last NIGHT so all the girls in our tent were planning to party. We saved all our snacks from the day, so we would have food. Unfortunately, we were by the leader tents so we had to be quiet. :( We didn't get the party we were planning but we had fun. Then, we went to bed.

Day 4 ~ Friday

Last Day

Everyone in our tent woke up at 7:00. They were going to let us sleep in until 8. Darn. But, we all got packed up and organized so when it was time to go, we would be ready. 2nd and 4th years were in charge of making breakfast that morning, and we made our own version of Egg McMuffins. They tasted OK. After, we got some freetime. I just hung out in my tent. Then, each year level performed our skits. 2nd years was like a boot camp. We were all doing things bad. My group was singing Spirit of God waaaaaaay of key (on purpose) Others were messing up on the 13th article of faith (chased by an elephant instead of chaste, benevolent) and so on. It was fun. Then we had one last destiny class. By then, it was SUPER hot and we were all really sweaty. Finally, we got lunch (sandwiches) We only had 20 minutes to eat. When we were done, we had to walk up to camp, get all our stuff, take down our tents, take all our things down to a trailer, load it, and get ready to go. We said our goodbyes, gave hugs, and got numbers. I had been making a bracelet and I gave it to our camp director.

The drive home was long and I fell asleep. It felt AMAZING to be home, with air conditioning, indoor plumbing, and my own bed.

Camp was an awesome experience, but I'm sad it's over. It went by very fast. Good thing the reunion is on Wednesday, right???

Sick :(

So, I've been super sick since Wednesday. I woke up on Wednesday and I knew I was not feeling good (I felt congested and could hear my rattly breath) Then, to make things worse, I went swimming in freezing water. I couldn't sleep very well that night because every time I laid flat, I got lightheaded. Thursday was so much worse. The thought of eating made me sick but since I was sick, I was actually hungrier than usual. I coughed a lot, had headaches, was super congested. I don't remember the last time I was that sick. Luckily, no throwing up. I missed Summer School on Thursday, because it starts at 8:00 and my mom wanted me to sleep in.

Today, I feel much better! I'm still a bit congested, but the worst was yesterday. We don't have summer school on Fridays. (kinda odd)

Today is the College World Series openings!!! YAY!

Guitar

Summer School started today!! I'm sure that as soon as you read that you thought, "Oh, poor Dominique," but DON'T!! I really like summer school because I'm learning to play guitar. I have an awesome teacher who taught himself to play. He really knows a lot.

At school, I use a guitar named Elijah (Quite a coincidence, since my aunt just had a baby named Elijah) I think Elijah is a great name for a guitar. I have a guitar at home but I don't take it to school because I don't have a case. Inspired by Elijah, I decided to name my guitar Moe. (My Own Elijah) Cute, huh? Plus, it made me think of that movie, Walle, and that cute little cleaning dude, Moe.

Lunch at school is okay. The only good part is that I get to eat with my sister, brother, Ben, and EmmaLee.

So that's basically what's been going on!

I'm BACK!!

OK folks, I've decided to return to this magical blog! A few changes will be coming around and it will be a MUCH simpler blog. Easier to read, new taste in music, less gadgets... Less, in this case, will be more.

So, let me summarize the past year:
